24 Public Schools “Capped” For 2017-18

A total of 24 public schools in Johnston County will be “capped” during the 2017-18 school year. This includes 12 elementary, 8 middle and 4 high schools.

The school board decision will prevent reassignment to the schools because projected enrollment during the 2017-18 school year will exceed the capacity established for the school.

The schools include:

River Dell Elementary
Riverwood Elementary
West Clayton Elementary

Archer Lodge Middle
Clayton Middle*
Cleveland Middle*
Four Oaks Middle
McGee’s Crossroads Middle*
Riverwood Middle
Selma Middle
Smithfield Middle*
Cleveland High
Corinth Holders High
South Johnston High
North Johnston High

Schools that may be impacted with the opening of Swift Creek Middle School that will remain on the capped schools list but may be removed at a later date are noted with an (*).

No new reassignment requests for the 24 schools will be accepted for the 2017-18 school year.
