Deputies Searching For Driver After 130 MPH Pursuit
JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities are searching for a vehicle involved in a high-speed chase early Monday morning in Johnston County.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began around 1:48 a.m. when a deputy sheriff on routine patrol spotted a black Chevrolet Camaro traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on NC 39 North near NC 231.
The deputy turned around to initiate a traffic stop and noticed the Camaro was not displaying a license plate.
When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated, reaching speeds of up to 130 miles per hour, authorities said.
The pursuit continued on NC 39 towards Selma before the deputy lost sight of the Camaro near NC 42 and ended the chase.
Officials later received information that the vehicle had been spotted in the Selma area.
No description of the driver was immediately released.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

I would never turn in someone who actually succeeds at fleeing and alluding.
Spell checker revenge.
Wonder what he was alluding to…
OMG he alluded arrest????!!
I think he was going faster than that but okay. Its not hard to get away from Joco deputies that cant drive. Only time they have been trained on driving was BLET. And alot of big backs that couldnt catch you in a footchase. They need to stop chasing these people and save the lives of the general public. Get a description and put out a BOLO. Chasing is pointless if you cant effectively stop them. And especially if its a pursuit for a traffic infraction. Screw that! If its not active felony I.E. Armed robbery, Murder, and or other felony crimes with victims we shouldnt be chasing these guys. The dodge SUVS definitely arent catching anyone.
