Glendale Chapel Recreation Celebrates Grand Opening Of New Athletic Field

KENLY, N.C. – Glendale Chapel Recreation, at 1600 Glendale Road, celebrated the grand opening of its new multi-use field May 3, welcoming the community with four t-ball games on the new field.

The project was made possible through the Open Spaces Grant provided by Johnston County in 2023 and 2025. Glendale Chapel Recreation thanked the county for its continued support and commitment to expanding recreational opportunities in the community.

The organization also recognized the work of Terry King Enterprises, Bunn Construction Company and Tebco Fencing for helping bring the project to completion.

As a volunteer-run recreation department, Glendale officials said they are grateful for the opportunity to enhance local facilities. The new field is expected to serve as a valuable asset as the recreation program continues to grow.

The organization is accepting donations, including naming rights opportunities for the new field, as well as contributions to help offset the ongoing costs of maintaining and operating recreation programs.

Those interested in donating may contact the Glendale board at glendale.chapelrec@gmail.com

Recreation officials thanked the community for its continued support and said they look forward to many future seasons on the new field.
