Woman Faces Charges After Incident With First Responders
BENSON, N.C. — A routine emergency medical response in Benson turned violent, leading to the arrest of a local woman on multiple charges, according to authorities.
Johnston County EMS and Johnston County deputies were called to a residence on May 2 after a neighbor reported finding a woman outside the home, unclothed, lying face down and screaming.

When EMS personnel began evaluating the woman, identified as 52-year-old Rebecca Jean Mota of Allen’s Crossroads Road, she allegedly kicked a responder during the assessment.
Law enforcement detained Mota at the scene, and she was transported by Johnston County EMS to a hospital for evaluation before being released into custody.
She was later taken to the Johnston County Detention Center and charged with assault on emergency personnel, simple assault, and indecent exposure.
Bond was set at $10,000.

Well at least she’s smiling in her mugshot lol
She is clearly going through something…So yeah, let’s just charge her! The emergency personnel came on her property and approached HER! lol….Can we not give any Grace when someone is in such a vulnerable state? Nope! Because putting people in a deeper hole is what we aim for!
So, the good neighbor should have ignored the naked woman laying in her yard and screaming? Or, EMS should not have tried to treat her? Why is it anyone’s fault other than the woman who created the situation? What a society we live in – it’s always someone else’s fault.
While incarceration isn’t ideal, in cases of violent behavior it can protect everyone involved and create an opportunity for the individual to stabilize, reflect, and access help they may not have gotten otherwise.
She kicked a first responder who was trying to help her. A few minutes later she is smiling for her mug-shot.
“Johnston County EMS and Johnston County deputies were called to a residence on May 2 after a neighbor reported finding a woman outside the home, unclothed, lying face down and screaming.” They were called and had no choice but to respond…
Would you like to tell us what she was going through 11 years ago when she was drunk and hit a motorcycle, injuring the rider? She may be “going through something” but that doesn’t excuse her behavior.
