The Johnston County Clerk of Court Office closed around 10:00am today (Monday) due to COVID concerns. Clerk of Court Michelle Ball said the closure is for the Main Office, which includes the Criminal, Civil and Domestic divisions.
The Estates and Special Proceedings Division, which is in a different section of the Johnston County Courthouse, is still open and able to receive most payments and take filings for the entire office, Mrs. Ball said.
Filings can also be left in a drop box in the hallway. The drop box will be checked daily.
All staff in the Main Office were sent home this morning. The entire office will undergo cleaning. Mrs. Ball said the Clerk of Court Office will be closed through Friday, Jan. 15th and will reopen to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 19th.
