Motorcyclist Struck In Front Of Own Home

FOUR OAKS – The State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. The collision was reported at 2:31pm Friday in the 10000 block of US Highway 301 South, near Raleigh Road.

The Highway Patrol said the operator of a blue motorcycle, traveling southbound on Highway 301, was slowing to turn left into the driveway of his home when he was rear-ended by a blue passenger car, also traveling southbound.

The motorcyclist was ejected and seriously hurt. He was rushed by Johnston County EMS to WakeMed for treatment.

The driver of the car was not injured. The driver was reportedly headed to South Johnston High School to pick up a student when the crash occurred.

Troopers said charges are pending.

Benson Fire, Johnston County EMS, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Highway Patrol responded.
