Benson, NC: Mr. Nathan B. Blackmon, age 85, of S. Wall Street passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Graveside Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen.
Mr. Blackmon was born on August 24, 1936 in Johnston County, NC to the late Oscar Shelton and Mary Johnson Blackmon. He owned and operated Blackmon’s Auto Sales for 67 years. Mr. Blackmon also owned and operated Blackmon’s Gas and Grocery for 57 years. He owned and operated Fayetteville Auto Auction for 50 years. Mr. Blackmon was a former Benson Town Commissioner.
Surviving includes his wife of 65 years, Glenda Faye Hall Blackmon; daughters, Cheryl Blackmon Tart, Umica Blackmon Denning and husband, Dudley; grandchildren, Brandy Tart Strickland and husband, Kelly, Hannah Denning Miriello and husband, Joey, Molly Tart Sloan, and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Kenleigh, Ella, Jon Kelly, Evan, Maggie Judd, Ava James; sister, Rachel Johnson; brothers, Leon Blackmon and wife, Susan, Kenneth Ray Blackmon and wife, Pat; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2022 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
