Patriotic Explosion Returns To Dunn With Music, Food Trucks And Fireworks

DUNN, N.C. — A local tradition celebrating faith, freedom and community will return as Central Baptist Church hosts its annual Dunn Patriotic Explosion.

The free event, scheduled for Sunday, June 28, will feature patriotic music, food trucks and a fireworks display as part of a community celebration recognizing America’s 250th anniversary.

Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with a patriotic concert inside the church’s air-conditioned Tabernacle. The program will feature performances by the Central Baptist Church Choir, the Maples Family, and Butler, Hughes & Hayes.

“The concert will honor God and America’s heritage and will feature the Central Baptist Church Choir, the Maples Family, and Butler, Hughes & Hayes,” says Worship Pastor Darren Hughes.

After the concert concludes, food trucks will begin serving at 7:00 p.m. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening outdoors with a variety of dinner selections, desserts, coffees, specialty sodas and fresh-squeezed lemonades.

The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show after sunset.

Admission is free and open to the public. Because parking is limited, attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Central Baptist Church is located at 6050 Plain View Highway in Dunn. Additional information, including food truck menus, is available at cbcdunn.com.
