Police Investigating Business Break-Ins

Smithfield Police are investigating three recent business break-ins. Officers have not ruled out they could be connected.

On October 12th, someone broke into Las Brasas Mexican restaurant at 1219 S. Brightleaf Boulevard. The incident was discovered at 7:41am.  Someone shattered a glass entry door and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.   Damage was estimated at $500.

On October 21st at 1:52am, a break-in was discovered by officers at the Biscuit Stop at 820 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.  No items were taken but $200 in damage was reported.

On October 21st around 6:40am, a break-in was reported at the A T Mart at 608 Buffalo Road.  A cash register and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.  Officers believe two suspects were involved in the convenience store burglary.
