Police Seize Fentanyl, Issue 46 Charges During Checking Station

FOUR OAKS – Law enforcement officers conducted a two hour checking station, as part of Child Passenger Safety Week, encouraging people to buckle up their youngest passengers because car crashes are still a leading cause of death for most children.

Four Oaks Police were joined by the State Highway Patrol and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement for the checking station at the intersection of NC Highway 96 South and Keen Road, from 6:15pm to 8:15pm Monday.

Police Chief Stephen Anderson said 46 different charges were issued including 24 for no operator license, 5 driving on a revoked license, 3 open container violations, 4 seat belt violations, two child restraint violations, among other offenses.

During the checking station, police arrested Zachary Antoine Devon Williams, age 22, of Cocateil Lane, Dunn after he was reportedly found with 3 grams of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone pills, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and $366 in cash in his possession.

“The Four Oaks Police Department would like to thank the NC Alcohol Law Enforcement Branch and the NC highway Patrol for their assistance with the checking station,” Chief Anderson said.

  1. I would like to thank Chief Anderson for the work he is doing in Johnston County. So hard to believe that in a two-hour period they caught all these offenders. Our roads and our lives are now a little safer thank to the Chief and also to all the LEOs involved. Chief Anderson, you are just what Four Oaks needed.

  2. Over HALF of those stopped had no driver’s license. LEOs, please step up these checkpoints and get these people off of our streets. Admittedly, they’ll be back driving the next day, but it’s a start.

    • I take no sides but what I’ve seen sometimes the ones with drivers license drive worse than the ones without it. To each is own. Anyways for a small town like four oaks it’s the end of the month so somehow they have fill their quotas up 😂

      • And just how, pray tell, can you tell who has and who does not have, a driver’s license? And by what standard do you judge one’s driving ability? You need to ride along with an LEO and tell him/her who doesn’t have a license just by observing them.

  3. A successful shakedown campaign that resulted in much needed revenue for the only public sector to ever grow during a recession. Labeling it as child safety is right up there with education lottery. Having a driver’s license does not mean people know how to drive. The ones without a licenses will drive alot more cautious for obvious reasons.

    • Jim, you sound like a person that would complain if you won a million in the lottery. You would want two million. These LEOs did a great job and we need more check points. I hope you never have to find out that a family member of yours was involved with one of these people who do not know how to follow the law. We have laws for a reason and if these people were not braking the law then there would not have been a problem!

      • Steve, as Ronald Regan famously put it, the last words you ever want to hear is that we are the government and we are here to help. But thank you for being a fateful obedient slave to the system.
