FOUR OAKS – A section of US 301 just north of Four Oaks will close to through-traffic for about seven weeks to allow an N.C. Department of Transportation contract crew to replace a drainage pipe under the pavement.
The closure will affect both directions of US 301 near Forest Hills Drive and occur between April 2 and May 21. A 3.7-mile detour will send drivers onto Keen and Boyette roads, past Four Oaks Middle School.
Drivers should be alert near the work zone and expect a longer commute using the detour.
If you thought shutting down 96 for 3 weeks was a long slow terrible govt job, just wait it gets worse!
I agree. Seems like 7 weeks is a long time to do this job.
3 weeks to put in a drain line on a busy hwy. They sure don’t care about the businesses they hurt. If they got the pipe on the side of the road ready to install then it should take only one day to do the job. I just do not understand.
It’s because Johnston County is as corrupt as the swamp in DC.
