SELMA – On Sunday, May 21st a historical Eagle Court Ceremony was held at Thanksgiving Baptist Church near Selma. Carry-On Detachment 1236 Commandant Bo “aka Bull” Durham Jr. presented “The Good Citizenship Award” to Coleman Earp of Troop 422 of Thanksgiving Baptist Church and Quinn & Gracie Earp of Troop 333 of Oakland Presbyterian Church of the Cleveland area.

The Eagle Award is the highest and most coveted rank in Scouting. The awarding of the Eagle rank is an important occasion for any parent and the goal for which a Scout works for many years.

Hutch and Dana Earp experienced this achievement from all three of their children Coleman, Quinn and Gracie Earp.

Coleman has been in Troop 422 for 7 years. He earned a total of 37 merit badges and served as Troop Guide, Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader. Coleman’s Eagle Project involved building a shooting deck for a nonprofit organization, I See You Ministries, in Kenly.
