Two Seriously Injured When Car Strikes Log Truck

PRINCETON – The State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-vehicle accident that send two people to the hospital with injuries. The wreck happened at 5:56pm Monday on US 70 Bypass at US 70 Alternate.

According to troopers, a tractor trailer log truck was at a crossover attempting to turn onto US 70 East. The trailer was extended across both westbound lanes as it waited. A Ford Fusion traveling westbound collided with the trailer portion of the truck.

Both the driver and passenger in the Ford suffered serious injuries. Both were wearing seat belts. The driver of the log truck was not injured.

The collision remains under investigation.
