Wilson Warbirds Opening Day Sellout Sets The Tone For Historic Season

Warbirds First Home Game Officially Sold Out

WILSON, N.C. — The Wilson Warbirds have officially sold out their Opening Day matchup against the Hill City Howlers, marking a milestone for the organization and a strong show of community support as the new season gets underway.

Tickets for the season opener were quickly snapped up by fans eager to see the return of professional baseball to Wilson. The sellout highlights growing excitement for the Warbirds’ inaugural season and the energy surrounding the team.

“This is a special moment for our team and our city,” said Warbirds President Joe Ricciutti. “To see this level of enthusiasm before the first pitch is even thrown speaks volumes about our fans and the energy surrounding this season.”

While Opening Day tickets are no longer available, several other events are planned during the Warbirds’ opening homestand. On Thursday, April 16, the team will host “Hard Hat Heroes Night,” honoring men and women in the construction trades who helped make Wilson Ballpark a reality. Fans who work in construction, have friends or family in the trades, or operate a construction-related business are encouraged to attend.

The weekend will feature fireworks-filled evenings, including the first Friday Night Fireworks show on April 17 and the first Summer Saturday Fireworks show on April 18.

The homestand will close on Sunday, April 19, with the Warbirds’ first “Pups in the Park” game, allowing fans to bring their dogs to the ballpark for a family-friendly experience.

In addition to these special events, the team will continue its “Kids Run the Bases” program after every home game, giving children the chance to experience the thrill of running the bases on a professional field.

With a sold-out Opening Day and a lineup of engaging events, the Wilson Warbirds are off to a strong start in their inaugural season.

  1. I thought because of the drought that there is a no burn ban permitted and fireworks fall into that category?
