Package Mailed To Princeton Address Contained $180,000 In Cocaine, JCSO Says

PRINCETON –  A suspect arrested Monday night by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office narcotics division is being held on a $5 million bond. Tomas Mosso Carachure of Boone Hill Drive, Princeton was charged following an undercover investigation.

Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said a package containing nearly two kilos of cocaine was mailed from Mexico to an address in Princeton.  Narcotics investigators executed a search warrant immediately after Tomas Carachure allegedly accepted delivery of the package. The cocaine had a potential street value of $180,000.

Carachure is reportedly in the United States illegally.

The 37 year-old man was charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and one count of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.

Carachure was confined Monday night on a $5 million secured bond in the Johnston County Jail.
