Report: Driver Reached Speeds Of 145 MPH During Chase
SELMA – No injuries were reported during a high speed chase and crash.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit started around 12:30am Thursday, June 29th. A patrol deputy was traveling on Highway 42 East near Highway 39, and using radar, clocked a car traveling 102 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The deputy attempted to stop the suspect, however he accelerated and quickly reached speeds of 145 mph while traveling eastbound on Highway 42. Nearing the Highway 39 roundabout, the suspect slowed considerably but lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the tree line.
Isaiah Ja’Wan Watson, age 23, of Wilson, NC was arrested. A 9mm Glock semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, rolling papers, and a small amount of suspected marijuana was reportedly found in the vehicle and seized. Watson’s Hyundai Genesis was seized under the NC Run and Done law.
Watson was held on a $25,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail charged with numerous offenses including felony fleeing to elude arrest.

Put this fool under the jail for putting innocent lives at risk. Probably high, which impaired his already warped judgement, leading him to think he can do anything he wants with no consequences….jerk!

Isaiah Ja’Wan Watson, You should have not only hit the tree line but gone thru the windshield! You could have killed someone with your actions and having that gun killing was probably your intention. I agree with Rocky, they should put you under the jail you POS. Thank God no civilians or LEO’s were injured but you don’t care, do you!
