Four Now Charged In Armed Robbery Of 78-Year-Old Princeton Man

PRINCETON, N.C. – Three more people have been arrested in connection with the June armed robbery of a 78-year-old man inside his Princeton-area home, bringing the total number of defendants charged in the case to four.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office made the additional arrests Aug. 12 and 13 as investigators continued working the June 27 robbery on Edwards Road.

Two Arrested Near Selma

Crystal Gayle Hill, 26, of Clark Pond Road, Clayton, and Cameron Jordan Davis, 31, of W.C. Braswell Road, Smithfield, were arrested in the 4100 block of Old Beulah Road near Selma on Aug. 12.

Both were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary and felony conspiracy in connection with the Princeton robbery.

Hill and Davis were also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from their arrests.

Davis faces an additional charge of resisting a public officer after he reportedly fled from deputies on foot.

Fourth Defendant Charged

On Aug. 13, deputies arrested William Mack Lassiter Jr., of Bakers Chapel Road, Smithfield, and charged him with felony conspiracy in the robbery investigation.

Lassiter was separately charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon in an unrelated case. Authorities allege two shotguns were found in his possession.

According to court records, Lassiter was previously convicted of felony possession of a firearm by a felon in Johnston County Superior Court in October 2018.

The new arrests follow the Aug. 9 arrest of Jimmie Spencer Kincaid, 23, of Bizzell Grove Church Road, Princeton. Kincaid was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary and felony conspiracy. He was also charged with violating felony probation related to a 2025 drug conviction.

78-Year-Old Robbed At Gunpoint

The charges stem from a robbery reported around 2:25 p.m. June 27 at a home on Edwards Road near Princeton.

The 78-year-old homeowner, who has mobility issues, told deputies he was sitting inside his residence when a man entered through an unlocked door and pointed a black handgun at him.

The intruder allegedly demanded money and took the victim’s wallet, cash and two credit cards before leaving.

The homeowner was not physically injured.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office investigated the robbery and made the subsequent arrests.
