Man Linked To Amazon Package Theft

GARNER – A homeless man has been arrested for allegedly stealing two packages from the front porch of a Johnston County home. Danny Denn, age 64, was arrested April 12 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Denn is charged with misdemeanor larceny and probation violation.

On April 10, a resident on Crows View Drive reported two Amazon packages were stolen from their front porch. The packages contained about $100 in miscellaneous items.

A security camera at the home captured the theft. A deputy reportedly recognized Denn as the suspect due to a prior encounter with him.

Denn was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $800 bond for the larceny offense, plus an additional $50,000 bond for the probation violation. The stolen packages were not recovered.
